This is a large knotted rope rug. The size is approximately 48″ x 18″ (with in an inch). Made with NEW Manila rope and is tightly woven knotted and will last a very long time. Perfect at any doorway to scrub feet. Can be washed in cold water and is best with cold water hose outside and then lay flat for drying in sun. We have tons of line/rope on our property in Kodiak Island Alaska that we are having fun recycling the fisherman gear into something of use with a unique look. NO TWO RUGS THE SAME.
Meet the Artisans
Alaska Rug Company is owned and operated solely by owners Robert and Anita Shane which own and reside at the Port Bailey Cannery, a 100 year old decommissioned cannery on the island of Kodiak. The Shane’s live on-site year round, they started Alaska Rug Company in the winter 2010 when they both decided to quit smoking. In lieu of strangling one another while quitting they came up with a way to keep their hands busy and started playing with rope, finding designs and knots and began making rugs which led to much more. Alaska Rug Company is an Eco-friendly company based out of Port Bailey, Alaska which is located on the NW side of Kodiak Island Archipelago. Alaska Rug Company uses 100% Authentic Alaskan Fishing Line & Rope to make beautiful handwoven durable doormats, throw rugs, curtain tie backs, trivets, bowls, shapes, letters and so much more. Alaska Rug Company is committed to re-purposing rope all over Alaska and up-cycling it into beautiful handwoven durable rugs, mats and other housewares rather than let it clog our landfills or end up all over the beaches.
